Gameplay Experience
I recently started playing Resident Evil Village after finishing Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and Resident Evil 7. While the game looks fantastic and the castle section is easily one of the highlights, it hasn’t completely clicked with me so far.
What I enjoyed most about the previous games was the focus on bioweapons, experiments, and survival against impossible odds. Village takes a different approach, leaning more into folklore and supernatural-style horror. It’s interesting, but it doesn’t feel as grounded as the earlier entries.
The combat has also been a mixed experience. Some enemies feel more like ammo sponges than actual threats, and a few of the chase sequences have felt more frustrating than scary. The story is still intriguing enough to keep me moving forward, but at this point I’m more interested in seeing how everything connects than I am in the gameplay itself.
